Regarding the Use of the Virtual Health Classroom in Higher Medical Education

Abstract

Virtual Teaching-Learning Environments, within the context of the new pedagogical model and the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies into the Teaching-Learning Process, facilitate the transition from traditional forms to more modern and efficient ways of teaching and learning. Changes in the educational paradigm requires teachers at different educational levels to develop the skills that allow them to teach in a different way, according to the demands of the new context. The incorporation of virtual teaching and learning environments and educational technology characterizes the modern, humanistic, universalized, scientific, technological, innovative Cuban medical university, integrated into society. The development of informational competencies in Medical Sciences professionals is the responsibility of the teaching departments of universities, to foster the development of information-literate professors, capable of using information responsibly, effectively, and ethically.
