Post-COVID-19 condition in SARS-CoV-2 infection
Keywords:
pandemics, COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, post-COVID-19 conditionAbstract
Introduction:
Polemics about mechanisms that determine the persistence of symptoms in patients infected by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus, that produces the post-COVID-19 condition, have been revealed.
Objective:
To integrate information about post-COVID-19 condition in the infection by
SARS-CoV-2.
Methods:
A narrative revision related to the information about the post-COVID-19 condition in the infection by SARS-CoV-2 was performed. The searching was made, consulting the data bases Pubmed, and SciELO, without date restriction in Spanish and English. The revision included 24 researching articles, 12 revision articles, two metanalysis, and 14 editorials or commentaries.
Conclusions:
In spite of the advances in knowledge of etiology pathogen of this disease, it still requires to clear with precision the physiopathologic mechanisms of this post-COVID-19 condition, due to it is recognized that this disease can affect many systems of different organs.
