Cyberchondria in times of pandemic

For more than two years, the international community has been facing the challenge of the appearance of a new disease, with high mortality rates; COVID-19. It has provoked different psychological reactions between individuals; Cyberchondria is a term derived from hypochondria: At a cognitive level, the person presents the perception of having contracted the disease, conceptualizes having a disease, thinks about their ability to deal with it and, finally, thinks that there will be no medical solution. to treat your condition; Some symptoms of COVID-19 may even appear, for example, difficulty breathing, as a somatic equivalent of anxiety. To face the possible harmful effects of this excessive search for information, it is most advisable to undertake strategies that contribute to a better preparation, both of the population and of health personnel, about the correct use of technological means and to use the means efficiently communication.
